The CW is stepping away from comicbook adaptations for a moment and turning to one of America’s most beloved novels for a series on its 2015-16 development slate.
The network is developing what it calls a “hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation” of Louisa May Alcott’s 19th century novel “Little Women,” Variety has confirmed.
The show will follow “disparate half-sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy” as they “band together in order to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy that stretches far beyond anything they have ever imagined — all while trying not to kill each other in the process.”
